How Maul became Darth
His original name was Khameir Sarin - a member of the Zabarak race from the planet of Iridonia. Darth Sidious, in search of a suitable apprentice, discovered him and coerced him into setting a trap for some of his friends. This reportedly brought about the death of seven Jedi Knights. The after effects of this incident brought Khameir Sarin into the Dark Side, where he was to become the second of the two Dark Lords of the Sith.
