Krishna said that wisdom purifies action and makes it free from reaction. Arjun feels this may be true for the benign actions Krishna mentioned (25-29), like sense control, breath control, and charity, but a fratricidal war is an entirely different story.
Here Krishna responds that wisdom can purify even the most sinful of all sins.
